IDPI focuses its federal work on three main issues.
1. Repealing mandatory minimum drug sentencing
and stopping efforts to
expand it.
2. Changing federal law to allow for the
medical use of marijuana.
3. Restoring financial aid to college students
who have lost it because of a
drug conviction.
Most of our work on these issues involves lobbying national religious
groups to lobby Congress on behalf of these issues if they have
a favorable position.
No matter where you live, there is local action that you can take
to support these policy changes at the federal level.
