To President George W. Bush:

As a person of faith who cherishes justice and mercy, I am asking you to grant clemency to Hamedah Hasan and many other Federal prisoners who are serving unconscionably long sentences for nonviolent peripheral involvement in drug cases.

Clemency is the last hope for many of these offenders. Mr. President, only you have the power to return these men and women to their families, and to let them become peaceful, productive citizens. We hope, trust, and pray that you will.

Sincerely,
